Pest Control Services

The first step in combating pest infestation is to find the source of the problem. Inspect the outside walls of your home from the foundation to the roof and seal any cracks or holes that allow pests inside.

Pest Control Introduction

Pay precise attention to trails leading up to a crack or a hole - These will often be the favorite and most used entrances for these unwanted guests. You can use expanding foam to seal around all plumbing and utility line openings. Use clear caulk to seal around cabinets, baseboards, and walls. Eliminate roaches by using bait stations or baiting gel. Prevent roach infestations by removing all food waste without delay and keep surfaces clean.

Gable vents are a frequent entry point for birds and bats. Place screening or 1/2 inch mesh hardware cloth over these vents either on the inside or the outside. Trim away any tree or shrub branches that are in the vicinity of or touch the house or the roof. If you've a wood-burning stove or fireplace, store wood away from the house. These woodpiles are ideal for insects and other creatures.

It is best to leave any bird or bat droppings untouched. If you need to clean the area, moisten the droppings first so that they do not release dust into the air. If it is necessary to vacuum the area, make sure that HEPA filters are installed on your vacuum. Wear a respirator and use disposable gloves and take care to wash all your clothing in hot water afterwards.

Pest Control pointers

Avoid trash or debris build up on your property. Seal trash cans.

Keep gutters clean and free of debris.

Before storing seasonal clothing, ensure that it is clean.

Chimneys should be capped or hardware cloth (also known as wire mesh) to cover the opening.

Call a reputable exterminator if you find insect infestation. Most insecticides are very dangerous and difficult to apply. Rot can be just as damaging, but easier to guard against. Plug leaks, keep exterior caulk in good shape, and make sure the house is adequately ventilated.
